FENCING – HORSE FENCE (POST & RAIL)

With the addition of Royal Outdoor Products, our Building Products Division has enhanced our offerings to the construction industry as well as providing the farm owner with materials for building more attractive, low maintenance decks, railing and fencing. Our experienced personnel can intelligently discuss Brock and Deck Lok vinyl decking, Royal Crown railing and Triple Crown fencing (both residential yard fence and post & rail horse fence).

  • Some of the most common questions follow:
  • Why would I pay more for vinyl fence instead of wood?
  • How much more difficult is it to install?
  • What colors are offered?
  • Are there different styles?
  • Can I get technical and design help?
  • Is there any maintenance at all?

WHY WOULD I PAY MORE FOR POST & RAIL FENCE INSTEAD OF WOOD?

When you take into account the true cost of maintaining and repainting wood fence, a constantly deteriorating project over the years, the true cost of vinyl is probably less than wood! So it not only lasts years longer but looks good the whole time. Whether your project is a pool fence, animal containment or just decorative, here are just a few benefits of vinyl:

  • Looks good for many years to come instead of constantly deteriorating
  • Never needs painting
  • High concentrations of titanium dioxide means minimal fading
  • Won’t blister, peel, rot or corrode
  • No visible hardware to detract from the overall appearance
  • Not subject to any type of insect damage
  • Knowledgeable design help always available
  • Minimal effort required to clean off any mildew buildup
  • Designed to withstand heavy impact while protecting animals from injury

HOW DIFFICULT IS IT TO INSTALL?

Vinyl fence typically cuts with standard power tools. Any of the galvanized

reinforcing steel inside of the rails is usually cut with a Sawzall with a metal blade. By taking advantage of our technical department, you can feel confident right from the start. Usually there is no charge for a drawing and bill of materials for your project. In a pinch, you can always call for additional help from one of our in-house fencing experts.

WHAT COLORS ARE OFFERED?

The standard color for post and rail fence is Alpine White. Other colors may be available in high volumes.

ARE THERE DIFFERENT STYLES OF FENCE?

Styles include square posts with plank rails, round posts with round rails, round posts with plank rails and track rails with curved posts.

CAN I GET HELP DESIGNING MY LAYOUT?

Our Design Department is capable of supplying scale drawings and bills-of-material listing all of the vinyl components and the cost for each. Generally, there is no charge for this service since any design charges are credited back when your material order is placed.

IS THERE ANY MAINTENANCE AT ALL?

Compared to wood, there is virtually none. The non-porous surface cleans exceptionally easily and resists stains. Squirting it off once in a while is a good idea. In high foliage areas, consider a light pressure wash every couple of years to easily clean and accumulated mildew. For stains, refer to our Stain Removal Chart.

VINYL FENCING

Our vinyl horse fencing has been around for decades. The subtle differences between Royal Crown and others may not be apparent until you look closely. Here are a few features of our horse fence:

  • Wall thicknesses are maximized to provide high strength
  • Rail-lockTM connection system for high impact resistance with injury protection
  • Color consistency is maintained for each lot
  • Most posts require no interior posts for strength
  • Tolerances are tighter than most other brands
  • Two, three and four rail designs
  • High levels of titanium dioxide mean almost no fading over the years
  • Gates and gate hardware kits readily available

From a practical standpoint, the “most comfortable” advantage is the fact that, after decades of experience, we “sweat the details” and provide the fittings and accessories for just about any circumstance that you run across during your fencing project so that you end up with a professional job.
